When Christmas comes it can be a little difficult to find hot gift ideas for men. Men are extremely difficult to buy for at the best of times.
If you're really stuck here's one idea that will work for almost all men. Homemade candy. If you're a little handy in the kitchen homemade candy is extremely easy to make, with some exceptions, and it makes a great gift idea for a man for Christmas or any other gift time.
If you make some great food for him, like candy, you've put some of yourself into the gift. You've taken the time and made the effort to put some love into your gift. It's so easy to just head down to the candy store and buy some candy, but homemade candy is so much better. It's made purely for him, from you.
And just about everyone loves candy, me included. I love to eat candy and I love to make candy. Well I love to cook generally.
Homemade candy, or any other homemade yummy, is a great way to put a bit of yourself into his Christmas gift. So make him some great candy this year.
If you're stuck for a recipe here's a good website about homemade candy recipes , but there's plenty more. Try and start with a simple recipe and work up to the harder stuff once you've tried a few. Stay away from recipes that require you to simmer water with sugar to a certain temperature, that takes time to master. Start simple and give him some great homemade candy for Christmas.
He'll love his candy from you.

Are Mens Skin Care Products A Good Gift Idea?
What about mens skin care products as a gift? It's a bit problematical isn't it, after all not that many men use skin care products do they?
I don't. However I think it's a bit like mens wedding rings, it's catching on fast.
I've read a bit about it in the last few days and have begun to wonder if the modern man would like a gift of skincare products.
However I didn't know, until I started reading, that many regular skincare products contain harmful ingredients, and don't work very well. And can in fact be quite nasty.
So you need a good supplier of natural, and safe, and effective skin care products. If you're interested in those that I've found that seem to be light years ahead of any others, click here.
And if you're interested in finding out more then here's a couple of pages about natural skin care and dangerous skin care products you might find interesting.
So Just Give Him A Real Sauna
However I do think that a real sauna is also a great gift for him as well, though obviously more expensive. You have a number of choices for buying saunas, and if you're canny you can buy quite a cheap sauna online.
The cheapest saunas are infrared saunas, particularly portable infrared saunas. They are small and can be moved around so if as they are lightweight and portable they're cheaper.
So if you love the sauna and your man does too then why not buy him a full blown sauna? Go on, lash out. There are places to buy cheap saunas, I've been looking at one cheap sauna store which has listings from eBay, and I couldn't believe that some saunas were so cheap. Brand new too.
So don't just think about buying him a series of 10 visits to the sauna, consider buying him a real sauna, there are cheap sauna around and at less than you'd think, depending on what you buy. And of course if you buy one big enough for the 2 of you then you can use it just like him, or with him. A great opportunity to spend some quality time together.
Golf Travel Cases For Golfing Travelling Men
But there is one problem with a golfing holiday, how does he get his golf clubs to where he wants to go? Golf clubs are by their nature big and heavy, and difficult to transport. They rattle and bang together and can be prone to damage, and a new set is pretty expensive.
So perhaps there's a great idea there for a gift for your travelling golfing man. A golf travel case.
A golf travel case is a case for his golf clubs that protects them from damage no matter how roughly they are handled. A good golf travel bag will allow him to pack his clubsm and often quite a lot of his other golfing equipmentm like his golf shoes, and have it securely padded and locked and away from the prying eyes of people who might be tempted to steal something from his golf bag, like all his golf balls.
Travel with golf clubs, particularly air travel with golf clubs, can be a headache that can be relieved by the use of a good golf travel case, and that's why golf professionals use them, and why they might make a good golf gift from you, to him.
You can get soft golfing travel cases, and hard travel cases. For airline travel he needs a hard golf travel bag, it offers the maximum of protection to his vulnerable golf clubs.
So if your man is a golfing and travelling man, and you're looking for a golfing gift idea for him, consider a good golf travel case, it might take the headaches out of his golf travel.
The Friendship Stone Is On Special
I have written about the Friendship stone before. It’s a lovely idea. I have another blog about mens gifts and I’ve written about the Friendship Stone.
It’s one of the more unusual gift ideas around and I like it as a gift that is quite unusual, for either a man or a woman.
Well the people at the Friendship Stone have told me that they have offered their unique product at a special price for Fathers Day. 15% off.
That’s not bad so if you want to have a look at the Friendship Stone do so here.
Why not get dad something very ususual for Fathers Day?
Posted by peter11 on June 7, 2008 at 5:11 amWould Your Man Like A Great Golf Gift? How About Custom Logo...
Is your man a golf lover? Does he have everything you could ever imagine for golfing? Do you need a good golf gift idea for him? Why not custom logo golf balls?
What in the world are custom logo golf balls and why do they make a fine gift idea for a man (or woman)?
It's perfectly possible with the use of modern technology to print on golf balls. Print text, print a photo, print a corporate logo, anything you want, as long as it fits. And there are now a range of companies that offer you the option of buying your own custom logo golf balls.
There are many uses for logo golf balls and if you're an enthusiastic golfer you've probably already seen some of them. For example corporate logo golf balls, where a corporation puts it's own logo on a golf ball, are big business. They are used for corporate promotion at, say, trade shows or seminars where they are given away as corporate promotions. They are cheap and keep the corporate logo right in front of anyone who loves their golf and uses these logo golf balls when they play.
But logo golf balls can also make a fine gift idea. You can get photo golf balls for example, where a small photo is printed on a golf ball.
Think it would be a nice idea to give him a gift of a set of golf balls with your photo on them? No matter how many golf gadgets he already has he won't have golf balls with your photo on them will he?
Or perhaps a photo of his favorite dog? Or anything. With custom logo golf balls you can print anything you want on the golf ball as long as it fits.
And why not add a message from you? You can print a photo on one side and a message on the other. Can you think of a short sweet message to him you could put on the golf balls?
You can get all the major brands. So you can get titleist logo golf balls for example. And you can also get logo golf balls with the logos of most of the major sports teams as well, so if he's a football nut you can probably get him logo golf balls with the logo of his team printed on them.
There's lots of options for you if you're looking for a novel and unusual golf gift for your man if you consider a set of custom logo golf balls.

Give Him A Sauna When He's On Holidays. Try An Infrared Saun...
I like saunas, sometimes. They are relaxing, it makes you slow down. Only problem is that regular saunas can be a little too hot for my liking.
Sometimes it's fine. If the temperature is a little lower than normal and noone has poured any water on the hot rocks then it isn't so hot and steamy.
Yes I know, a sauna is supposed to be hot and steamy isn't it? Well yes, but there are limits. Beyond a certain time I start to gasp. My wife, on the other hand, loves it as hot as it can get.
Maybe it's a boy/girl thing. I know that in many cases men seem to feel the heat much more than women. In summer on a hot day I'm dying while my wife is out there sitting in the sun. Maybe men feel the heat much more than women. I don't know, but I do know she revels in the sauna while I gasp most of the time.
And if you love a nice sauna but your man is a little like me and finds it too hot then there is an alternative. I've recently come across infrared saunas. A whatred sauna I hear you ask? An infrared sauna.
An infrared sauna is one which is heated by a different method than regular saunas. Regular saunas, or what is known as a Finnish or hot rock sauna, is one which works by means of heating the air, which is why I gasp.
An infra red sauna on the other hand, works by heating you the suana user, but not the air. How? By the use of infrared rays. You know infrared rays, that's what heats you every time the sun comes out from behind the clouds. And as it heats by infrared rays it doesn't make you gasp. It heats you, but not the air.
Infrared saunas can sometimes be known as FIR saunas. The FIR stands for far infra red, which is the wavelength of sunlight where the infared light it.
It seems that a good sauna has some health benefits. It's said that it makes it easier to lose weight, does all sorts of good things for your skin and cardio vascular system and lots lots more. Who knows, but a sauna is still a lovely time.
So if you love the sauna and you'd love your man to join you, but it leaves him gasping, treat him to an infrared sauna. He won't gasp and you may well find that he loves saunas as much as you do once he isn't feeling the heat so much.
It's a wonderful idea for the holidays. You're both relaxed, feeling good and have the time, treat him to a sauna, and if he feels the heat see how he goes with an infrared sauna.

What About Perfume As A Gift For Your Man?
Most men, I think it's true to say, like fragrances, or perfumes, worn by their women. But would they like to wear a perfume themselves?
A lot of men do wear perfumes now, even if they're not aware of it. What is an aftershave for example, but a perfume with another name? It's just a masculine perfume, or smell.
And what about deodorants? They have a fragrance don't they? So there are many men out there who wear a fragrance and aren't bothered by it.
But what about giving a male perfume to him as a gift? Well that's a little different I suppose. Because it's a perfume, not an aftershave.
But I wear one from time to time, and like it.
So I think that the bottom line is that some men will appreciate a male perfume for a gift, but that it's the womans job to find out whether her man is one of those who would enjoy it.
Next question. What type of perfume? Now I'm not going to start recommending brand name perfumes, because I don't know a lot about them, and anyway, a perfume is a personal choice. However if you are going to buy him a fragrance so that you can give him a perfume as a gift you need to start with a cheap perfume. Just to see how he takes it.
After all you don't want to spend a bomb just to find he's not interested.
There are plenty of cheap perfumes available, there are lots of places where you can get discounted brand name perfumes at prices that would surprise you, both for mens and for womens perfumes.
So start with discount perfumes for your man, see what his reaction is, and take it from there.
Think A Geek Would Love A Fine Computer Armoire?
Looking for a gift for a man who loves his computer but has nowhere to put it? How about giving him a computer armoire?
It seems that everyone has a computer nowadays. And computer armoires are becoming very popular. But aren't they just the most useless piece of furniture that you could buy?
A computer is just about mandatory in modern times. If you're not on the net then you need to be, and it's a lonely house indeed that is without a computer.
And not just a computer. With it comes a whole lot of paraphernalia. Screens, printers, boxes, faxes, cables everywhere and so on.
Where to put it all?
Well of course you could just put it all on a computer desk, after all, that's what they're designed for. They aren't all that expensive. They house all your hardware quite comfortably, and although it mightn't look quite so good, it all goes in the study doesn't it?
Problem. What if you don't have a study? Or any room dedicated to equipment like computers. Modern living, and in particular high real estate prices mean that for many people a study is a luxury they can't afford. A home office is a room that just doesn't exist in most houses or apartments.
Enter the computer armoire. Computer armoires are a specifically designed piece of home furniture. They are designed with one purpose in mind, to house a computer and all it's paraphernalia in a way that disguises it completely from others who enter the room. And a good computer armoire, sometimes known as a computer cabinet, does it all whilst looking like a fine piece of high quality furniture that adds value to the room rather than looking out of place.
Good computer cabinets come in a range of sizes and shapes. From corner armoires to wall armoires, wide to narrow, a computer armoire houses your computer in a way that allows you to use it easily and comfortably at any time, but to cover it up at other times so that it appears there isn't a computer in the room at all.
A well designed cabinet has a place for every piece of computer equipment. Drawes, shelves, tiny spaces and pull out keyboard drawers, there's a place for everything. Height adjustable for all users, space for filing, space for all the cables and holes at the rear to allow them all to reach the power source, it's all designed into a fine computer armoire like a Broyhill or Sauder computer armoire.
And it can all be retracted and covered up at the fold of a door or 2. Opening doors should fold back against the sides for best use of space, and then shut to cover it all up.
And a good computer cabinet is a fine looking piece of furniture. Timber or timber veneer in such fine furniture timbers as cherry or walnut, they are designed to look as good in, say, your loungeroom or bedroom as any other furniture that you may have there.
Perhaps you've got some space in the corner for your armoire, buy a corner computer armoire for that space. Or perhaps a short amount of wall space is available. Buy a narrow wall armoire. They are versatile and good looking.
If you don't have a dedicated office or study at home a fine computer cabinet is almost a necessity. You can't just buy any old computer desk and put it right there in the lounge. It looks terrible and takes up way too much space.
So if you're wanting to put a computer in your home but don't have a study to put it in, then consider putting it right in the lounge or bedroom, and housing it in a fine quality good looking computer armoire. No one will ever know it's there when the doors are closed, and you'll be able to work to your hearts content when the doors are open.
A computer armoire is perhaps the most useful piece of furniture you could buy for your home. And it makes a fine gift for a man who loves his computer and needs somewhere to put it.
Buy Him A Motorcycle GPS System. He'll Love It
Is your man a motorcycle rider? Does he get lost sometimes? Have you considered a motorcycle GPS system as a gift for him?
GPS navigation has come of age and motorcycle GPS is now a reality. There are a number of well known and high profile companies such as Tom Tom and Garmin who now offer dedicated motorcycle GPS navigation systems that offer the latest in high quality high tech navigation systems for bike riders to take the headaches out of long rides to new places.
GPS, or Global Positioning System technology, uses satellite signal cross referencing to determine exactly where the GPS user is on the planet, with extreme accuracy. This is useful, but when it is combined with modern mapping software as well it produces a superb navigation system that is light years ahead of any method of navigation we have used in the past.
A modern motorcycle GPS unit will mount on the handlebars and provide a 3 1/2 inch screen that displays a moving map of the roads along which the motorbike rider is riding. The rider can predetermine his ride before he sets off, input it into his GPS navigator and it will work out the best route.
As the map moves the rider can see all the required turns as they come up one by one. And many recent GPS motorcycle systems, like the Garmin Zumo 550 or the Tom Tom Rider 2 are combined with Bluetooth technology so that voice commands are directed right into an earpiece that the rider wears, so he can hear voice prompts telling him exactly where to turn to get where he is going.
There are dozens of options. Perhaps he'd like to plan a route that takes in each of the best fuel stops along the way, or accomodation, or perhaps other points of interest. The GPS will do it all for him, and tell him how to get there.
And with some units it is possible to provide real time traffic information, such as traffic jams, so that he knows what's happening, and his GPS can automatically route him around the traffic jam along the best route for him to avoid it.
Download it all later for keeping for future rides, or perhaps to share with his friends.
Perhaps he likes to listen to music. Upload his music files to his GPS and he can ride with music to accompany him. Perhaps hands free phone calls courtesy of the Bluetooth technology, or perhaps he's like to take some photos along the way and share them with his friends on his motorcycle GPS. It's all possible.
And much, much more. It's stunning what a modern motorcycle GPS navigation system will do, and all for well under $1000. Garmin and Tom Tom both offer units capable of all these features and more. High quality easy to mount dedicated motorcycle GPS navigators.
Oh, and if he drives a car he can mount it in his car for more sedate navigation as well, or perhaps handheld.
There's no doubt a modern motorcycle GPS is one of the best accessories he can ever have for his motorcycle.

Plus Size Lingerie As A Gift For Him
I’ve written before that I believe lingerie is a fine gift for a man. After all men love to see their women in lingerie, so if she buys some wonderful lingerie and wears it for him then it’s a win win situation. She gets some wonderful lingerie to wear and he gets to see her wearing it.
Now I believe that most women are a little larger than the traditional model who models most of the lingerie we see, that most women are what is euphemistically called “plus size”.
And I’ve found some wonderful and very sexy plus size lingerie, so for all those women out there who’d love to buy some lingerie for themselves, and for their men, but are a little larger than what is considered perfect, check out Hot Plus Size Lingerie. There’s something there for everyone.
And why not surprise him by wearing it for him when he’ll least expect it. I guarantee he’ll love it.
Fragrances. Just For Women?
Are fragrances just for women or do they make good gifts for men too?
Well in my view fragrances make great gifts for men. Some consider them effeminate, but I don’t, and I have one that I just love, purely because I like the smell.
There’s no difference in my view between a fragrance or a perfume and an aftershave. One just stings a little more than the other.
I’ve found a great site for cheap brand name perfumes. Check it out.
Christmas Gifts, And All Gifts, Mean Something Important
We get caught up in the hype and razzle and conspicuous comsumption of Christmas very easily, and often I think we forget the meaning behind all those gifts.
Because yes, Christmas is about gifts, but it’s about a whole lot more that often isn’t remembered. Of course there’s the religious aspect, but that’s not what I wanted to talk about today.
It’s what we mean when we give a gift to someone, either at Christmas, or at any other time.
Of course it’s different for everyone, but for me the meaning behind the giving of a gift is a simple one.
To me it’s someone saying I love you to someone else. You’re important to me, my relationship with me matters, and I’m telling you with a gift.
Now that’s great, nothing wrong there. I just think that we get so caught up in it all that we forget that bit sometimes.
So make sure this Christmas you remember that bit too. And you make sure that the “I love you” message isn’t lost in all the clutter of Christmas. Don’t just say it with a gift, tell them, show it and live it in as many different ways as you can think of.
And make sure you, and your gift recipients, all have a wonderful Christmas filled with love.
My best wishes to all of you for Christmas.
Peter
Men Going Away Need Hot Holiday Gifts
Need a few great ideas for Holiday Gifts? There's a pretty good chance you do, Christmas is coming and so many people go away for a holiday at Christmas. So if you're looking for some great Christmas gift ideas for hima and he's travelling soon then holiday gifts make a good Christmas gift.
Or maybe he's just the type who travels a lot with work. A good holiday gift for him still makes a fine Christmas gift.
How about a power adaptor as a holiday gift for him? I'm sure you know about power adaptors, they allow him to plug his shaver in when he's confronted by a plug socket that isn't like the shaver plug.
It's not a very exciting holiday gift idea is it? Been there, done that.
But how about a power adaptor that allows him to plug his shaver in when he's in any one of 150 different countries? Hmmm, that's a little more interesting as a good holiday gift.
Ok there's more. How about a power adaptor that allows him the 150 countries, and charges most of his portable electronic devices.

Now you're talking holiday gift!
Here's a quote from the website:
"This is the lightweight, compact AC device that provides plug adaptation for over 150 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas and Caribbean, and Australia. The plug configures to fit a variety of international sockets, and it has a built-in USB port that allows you to leave chargers for cell phones, digital cameras, iPod®s, and other devices at home. The device allows simultaneous AC and USB connection to charge two devices at once. An integral surge protector protects electronics from potential power spikes."
So it really does quite a lot more than just let him shave doesn't it? QUITE a bit more than just let him shave.
Now that's a holiday gift on steroids.
Get it at Hammacher Schlemmer. It's in the sports and leisure department.
And why not read some more of my suggestions on my main website about holiday gifts.

Need Some Help Coming Up With Hot Christmas Ideas For Him? H...
Christmas is coming and you're all out of ideas for a great Christmas gift for him. He's your favorite man and you've just GOT to find him a hot Christmas gift.
It's not easy is it, coming up with good Christmas gift ideas every year? Or birthday gifts, or any other gifts. It's not easy indeed.
But it's not impossible at all. You just need to put in a little extra effort from normal, and you've got it nailed. It does take some more effort than you might be used to.
But what exactly do you do to come up with cool Christmas gift ideas? Where do you direct the effort?
Here's 3 tips for finding great Christmas gift ideas for men. Put them to work and you'll be surprised at how well they work, and you'll be coming up with all sorts of great ideas for his presents, Christmas or otherwise.
1. Start early.
It sounds obvious doesn't it, but almost everyone starts their gifts search too late. That doesn't mean that you need to be out there buying a Christmas gift for him in June, although there's nothing wrongwith that, it's the way to get some great bargains buying out of season.
No I mean start looking for ideas early. To me the best time to start looking for good Christmas gift ideas is Christmas day. Look for good ideas for next Christmas.
Listen to him when he opens his gifts and watches others open theirs. What turns him on, either about his gifts or those received by others? You can tell if you listen and watch his body language. File it away under "christmas gift ideas for him" or better still write it down.
2. Listen to him.
Through the year, listen to what he says with a "gifts" viewpoint. What does he like, what does't he. If he's in a store what catches his eye, what does he immediately go and look at?
What turns him on?
Listen to him and watch, and you'll slowly find out more and more about what turns him on, and there are your gift ideas.
3. Look for gift ideas that he would never buy for himself.
If there's something that you've identified that turns him on find something that he'd love but he'd NEVER BUY FOR HIMSELF.
A great gift is one that he'd love to have but wouldn't buy. Perhaps it's a bit of an extravagance that he wouldn't take. Perhaps it's something he'd consider a bit superfluous. Perhaps it's something he'd look at a lot but not quite get around to as there is always something more important.
There you have it. Start looking for next Christmas THIS Christmas, listen to him and watch, and try to find a gift idea that he'd love but would never normally buy for himself.
Do those 3 things and you've got the makings of a great Christmas gift for him.
Easy? No, but I said it took some extra effort. Maybe not easy, but successful, and it will be worth it when he finds you've bought him a better Christmas gift than you ever have before.
And don't forget, you need to read my website too for lots of Christmas gift ideas.
Hot Christmas Gifts of 2007 For Older Men
So your man is a little older, but you love him more now than you ever did. And Christmas is coming and you've got to find a hot Christmas gift for him this year.
Here's 3 Christmas gift ideas for the older man. They may or may not be the hottest Christmas gifts of 2007, but either way any or all of them make wonderful Christmas gift ideas for an older man.
1. An LP to iPod converter.
If he's like me he has a whole bunch of old LPs at home. Like mine, he probably loves them all. And would love to listen to them more. But they're a little tired. A bit scratchy, a bit crackly, a bit old.
How about a converter that plays his LPs for him and converts them into a format that allows him to play them on an iPod or Nano? And if he doesn't have one of those then get him one as well, and he's got a whole new listening expeience coming.
And even better, why not improve the sound quality and eliminate those snaps and crackles? With software that comes with the converter.
It's the LP to iPod converter, available at Hammacher Schlemmer.
2. Ear warmers, but not any old earwarmers.

With winter coming if he's like me a pair of good ear warmers is well in order. But isn't it annoying when you wear ear warmers and can't hear anyone?
No longer, not with acoustic ear warmers that allow him to keep his ears warm and hear at the same time?
3. A Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor. Older men can have issues with blood pressure, and it does no harm at all monitoring his blood pressure regularly. Which he can do with a high quality blood pressure monitor that he can wear on his wrist and monitor his blood pressure at any time.

All of these Christmas gift ideas a lots LOTS more are available at Hammacher Schlemmer. One of the best online gifts stores around. Just search the gift in their search box at the top to find the gift you're needing.

Make A Hot Christmas Gift Of Memories For Him
Photos can be one of the best gifts to give because a photo is a gift of memories. A great gift is one which he will come back to over and over, and a gift of memories is a gift like that.
If you're looking for a great gift for him for Christmas then a gift of memories is hard to pass by. Use your own photos to create a fantastic gift that he'll love, and there you have a great Christmas present.
How do you create a gift of memories using your own photos? Well of course you could just buy a stick in photo album, print your photos and stick them in. But that's not exactly the best way to produce a Christmas gift he'll love.
There are much better and more high tech ways to do it, which produce better results. My favorite is Shutterfly, which is considered to be the premier photo and image sharing site on the web. At Shutterfly you can do all sorts of things with your photos.
There is an entire range of photo improvement tools available to you to make your photos look great. Then there are all sorts of other tools to produce great looking gifts for anyone you want, using your photos.
For instance you might want to create a whole batch of Christmas gifts for your extended family. Why not personalized Christmas photo cards for instance? Or personalised photo albums or photo books?

Want A Really Cool Christmas Gift For Your Man?
Lets face it, a watch is a lovely gift for a man. If it's a Rolex, say. But other than that a watch as a Christmas gift for a guy is a little old hat. Nice, but nothing unique. And if you're looking for a cool Christmas gift for him for 2007 then it has to be unique. Not that I've got anything against watches, we'd all be lost without one. But for a really special gift for Christmas I like to see something a little more creative. A little more unusual, unique, extra special.
Forget your Seiko watches, your Citizen watches, your Omega watches or your Casio watches. Here's a range of watches that fit the bill completely. Wonderful, unique, creative, unusual watches. Watches with designs to put the others to shame.
I have featured 3 of the "unique watches" from Shoppe Watches. Fantastic, eye catching, conversation starters. These are unisex watches, they could be worn equally well by either sex, and if you're looking for a unique Christmas gift for your man and he needs a watch any of these would do him nicely.
Now of course they do more mainstream watches as well, nice leather bands and so on, but it's these unique watches that took my eye.
And you should see their unique womens watches as well, just stunning. If you have a look and like what you see for yourself then drop the hint to him and maybe he'll buy one for you for Christmas!
Water resistant, Japanese Seiko quartz movements, quality watches. And not as expensive as you'd expect.
These watches would make a cool Christmas gift for 2007 for your man, or maybe a unique and unusual birthday present. Certainly a special gift for him.
They come with free shipping and a 100% return guarantee, and a 2 year warranty. I always like to see that. It tells me they have confidence in their product.

Go On, Just Give Him A Buffalo For Christmas
Charity gift giving is nothing new, it's been around for years. Several times my family has bought Christmas presents of geese or chickens or cows for poor families in Africa over the last couple of years.
But just because charity gift giving isn't new doesn't mean it isn't a great idea. It is.
We are some of the luckiest people on the planet. We have a lifestyle that is the envy of almost everyone else. Even those of us that aren't quite as affluent as the rest are far better off than almost everyone else who lives on this earth. We are comfortable and life is easy compared to some, and sometimes we forget this.
So gift giving that helps the less fortunate amongst us is a wonderful idea.
Oxfam has just released it's new "Oxfam Unwrapped" program. It's designed for people like us to help those that aren't as fortunate. We purchase gifts that benefit the poorer people of the world. We then give that "gift" to someone we love.
So for example I could buy a buffalo for a poor family in Africa, or a donkey. And then give a certificate or document reflecting that to someone I love, so they also are a part of that gift.
Take a gift of a donkey for just over $100. Here's what Oxfam says about it.
"Oxfam is helping to distribute donkeys to those affected by the conflict in Sudan. Abdell Rasol Ibrahim says of his donkey Mashi (which means ‘Goes Fast’): “She makes a big difference to my life. I’m a single parent, and I have five children to look after. I was very happy when I received the donkey, because I can go and collect enough firewood and grass to sell in the market. She’s a very good donkey. I’m very proud to have her.”
To give a gift like that is to really make a difference in someone's life. It may be one of the most important gifts you ever make.
So I urge you to seriously consider the Oxfam Unwrapped gifts for your man this Christmas. It may mean an awful lot more than you realise to someone else on this planet. It's a wonderful charity gift.
And don't forget to read my other suggestions for Christmas presents for men either.
If He Loves Art Give Him Some Beautiful Chinese Art
I love all things Chinese. That's probably because I spent 3 months last year living in China with my family. My wife is a teacher and we did a stint living in a Chinese school teaching English. I'm not a teacher but I taught too. It was a wonderful time doing something completely different.
It was great. Our kids loved it as well.
Now we have a house full of Chinese arts and crafts.
A lot of the stuff in our local stores is made in China, and a lot of it is poor quality. But Chinese arts and crafts are wonderful, and good quality.
In particular I love Chinese calligraphy. We have 2 wonderful wall hangings of Chinese calligraphy hanging at the top of our stairs, and they have been much remarked on by visitors.
Chinese arts and crafts make wonderful and unique gift ideas for a mans gift.
Particularly for a man who has an arty house or apartment, Chinese art makes a wonderful decoration. Just ask anyone who visits out house.
Chinese art is a perfect gift for so many occasions, just because it is so unusual. Whether it's a birthday gift for him, a Christmas gift, or even a unique thank you gift idea, there are so many occasions where you could consider Chinese art.
Suffice to say, if you're looking to find unique gifts online for a man who loves his art, Chinese arts and crafts certainly fit the bill. They are certainly unique, and quite beautiful.
And one of the beauties of Chinese art is that it is extremely inexpensive. The wall hangings we have were around $10 each and are hand made and stunning. You wouldn't even buy a reproduction of any good western artwork for $10, or anywhere near it.
Now of course we bought ours right there in China. Isn't it a whole lot more expensive if you're at home and want to buy Chinese art?
No, you'd be surprised. There are websites where you can buy extremely attractive Chinese arts and crafts for under $20. That's cheap for a unique and high quality mens gift.
And there are also some beautiful cards there as well. Traditional Chinese birthday cards are stunning, and at $10 - $15 for a pack they are again extremely good value.
Or a traditional Chinese invitation card for, say, wedding invitations? There are so many different occasions where a Chinese themed gift would make a wonderful and quite unique gift for him.
7 Hot Christmas Gifts For A Man Who Has Everything
I write all about mens gifts, and one of the most common questions I get asked through my website is "what gift do I buy for my man. He has plenty of money and buys what he wants, so he already has everything he wants".
This is of course pretty common. Lots of men just get out there and buy something if they want it, they don't drop hints near birthday time hoping that the hint will be picked up and acted on. Almost by definition, if he wants it he's already got it.
Not always of course, often it's a question of cost. There are men with a list of wants that they would like to fill, but just can't afford them. If your man is like that, and you can afford those gifts, then ask him and see what he'll say, he'll probably jump at the chance to tell you about those things he'd love the most but can't buy for himself.
But lets assume for a moment that your man can afford what he wants, and so you're a little stuck for ideas for unique and unusual birthday gifts or Christmas gifts that are going to get his juices going.
Here's 7 ideas for gifts for him. He may love all of them, he may love none of them, but I doubt it.
There'll be at least one gift for him there that he'll love. Some are extremely expensive and some aren't.
1. Sexy Lingerie. Now it isn't entirely a unique gift idea but it's one that is almost guaranteed to work. Men love lingerie. Worn by their women of course. I have seen lots of lists of favorite gifts for men and there is one common gift theme. Lingerie is always up there.
No matter how many pieces of beautiful lingerie a woman has, if she selects well and chooses the right piece I can just about guarantee her man will love it, provided of course she wears it for him.
It's almost a can't fail gift.
And there is wonderful lingerie available for women of any size, so girls it's no excuse to say that you're a little large. If your man loves you large he'll love you large and looking great in some sexy lingerie.
2. Adventure gifts. Most men love adventure and adrenalin. Not all, but most. And many women aren't aware that there are some excellent companies around that cater to this extremely well. It's possible to find all sorts of adventure gifts for men and women that you would never have thought existed.
And for all sorts of tastes. Would he love to do his first parachute jump? Try white water rafting?
Drive a tank or a supercar? Go zero-g just like the astranauts do in training? You can give him a gift of any of these things and thousands more, from the extreme adrenalin gift to the gentle and invigorating and pampering gift. The adventure gift companies cater for all tastes in outdoors and adventure and adrenalin, even to beautiful and luxurious days like wine tastings and spa days. There's something for everyone.
3. An eco holiday. There is a growing worldwide movement to charity and volunteer and ecological work and travel. Rather than just buy him a holiday in Europe, which is a little ho hum, why not buy him some volunteer travel with a difference. There are lots of companies which offer adventure travel with a twist, volunteer work that helps out those less fortunate than ourselves, both people and animals and the environment.
He may end up on a research vessel in the waters off Mexico counting turtles or in the wilds of Africa measuring the distribution of African animals. The destinations are almost always exotic. There is work to be done but it is so interesting and adventuruous and invigorating that he probably won't even see it as work. It's fun, it's exciting, it's adventurous and it gives back to the environment and to many less fortunate than ourselves helping committed scientists with their research.
It costs, it's not free, but it's an extremely unique and fabulous holiday that he's unlikely to better.
4 Chinese art. This is a favorite of mine because I lived in China for a while and just love Chinese art.
We have so many pieces that we don't have enough space to hang them all. From beatiful Chinese wall hangings to the absolutely fabuluous and quite unique teapots of Yixing, there are so many Chinese artworks that would go so well in so many of our Western homes.
And it's so cheap. For the man who loves his art, Chinese art is a gift of art with a difference.
5. Mens jewelry. Now this is a gift for a man who likes to wear jewelry obviously, and you need to establish this first. However for a man who does like his jewerly there are some extremely modern and stunning jewelry pieces available on the net now at very competitive prices. And they are made exclusively for men using some of the finest and most masculine of jewelry metals. Like Titanium. If you haven't checked out Titanium jewelry for men on the net lately and your man likes jewelry you should do so. It makes for a wonderful and sometimes extremely romantic gift for the right man.
6. An elephant painting. Another one for the man who likes his art. Painted by a real Asian elephant on paper which is made from elephant dung. Now before you wonder if I've gone mad check it out. The elephants really do the painting, I have a video of it on my website. And believe it or not they paint recognisable objects. The paintings look great, are extremely inexpensive, and would make a great artwork to hang near the table to stimulate some evening conversation with his friends.
And in Thailand, where a lot of the elephant paintings are done, they also make the most stunning paper from elephant dung. And yes, again I've got links on my website to sites where you can actually see how it's done, it's not a fraud. It's beautiful paper, and you can get his elephant painting done on elephant dung paper.
7. Buy him a whale. This is for the man who has absolutely everything and who won't like anything at all from number 1 to 6, then It is perfectly possible to do. He doesn't actually get a whale wrapped in paper to unwrap on his birthday. However there are organisations like the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin trust that track and identify individual whales and dolphins, and allow you to name his own whale or dolphin. There is a real whale or dolphin out there that is named for him.
The money helps in the protection of our whales and gives him a unique and memorable gift.
So there you have it, 7 suggestions for great gifts for the man who has everything. Ranging in price from $50 or so, to seriously expensive.
Now you don't have any excuses to say "I have no idea what to buy him for his birthday" any more.
A Sexy Gift From A Larger Woman (At Up To 80% Off)
A little while ago I wrote an article about lingerie for women as a sexy gift for a man.
In that I said that a very effective and sexy gift for a man is a gift of lingerie.
(And I also said, for those of you who haven't had the chance to read it, that I didn't mean that he wore the lingerie, but the woman who bought it for him wore it for him. Just wanted to clear that up.
I also wrote another article about plus size lingerie as a sexy gift for a man after I received an email from a reader who asked what I thought about lingerie as a womans gift to a man where the woman who was going to wear the lingerie for him was a larger woman.
And in that article I suggested a fine plus size lingerie store called Hips and Curves, probably the best plus size lingerie store on the net.
Well the whole point of this article is pretty simple really. It's just to let you know that Hips and Curves are having a summer clearance and are selling out their summer stock at 30% - 80% off.
That's a very significant saving and so I thought I'd let you know. If you're a larger woman and you're thinking of buying him a sexy gift of lingerie then get on over there. You won't buy cheaper than that.
And on top of that they do some wonderful and very sexy plus size Halloween costumes as well. If you're in the market for a Halloween costume that's a little risque then why not check them out as well as have a look at their plus size lingerie.
He'll Just Love A Gift Of Beer
Does your man love beer? Just about every man does, including me. And there are some very good beers around.
I have a brewery near me. It is one of those small boutique breweries that brews small quantities of high quality beers. The types that win awards, they've won quite a few. It was my brothers birthday a while ago and I bought him a beer gift box from them, with a selection of their products for him to try. He loved it.
There are some lovely birthday beer gift baskets and boxes around and I love them, it's a really nice way to give him a birthday gift. You can get even get chocolate and beer gift baskets, and that sounds like something I'd love.
If you want to give a beer love a beer gift for his birthday I don't think it's enough to just buy him a bottle or 3 of his regular beer and give that to your man for his birthday, you've got to do better than that if you want to give him a beer gift that's really special. Like the beer gift box I bought.
But I've now found an even better way to do it.
You see to me a gift of beer is an opportunity for you to offer him a birthday gift that gives him something that's not easy to get. A real beer experience. An opportunity to try some beers that he would never ever get to try otherwise. That's a birthday gift with a difference.
There are all sorts of small boutique breweries all over the country that brew wonderful beers, just like the one near me. And you'd probably never find them yourself or if you did it isn't easy to buy their products unless you live near one like I do.
So how do you find a great gift of a range of beers from some of our best boutique breweries?
From the beer of the month club. They offer a membership that makes a point of finding the best beers and sending them to their members. It makes a wonderful birthday, or Christmas gift. A unique birthday gift for dads for example, who are often very hard to buy for.
The beer of the month club has a range of beer experts on hand. Their job is to find these breweries and pick out the best of their products to send to the club members every month. (I'd love that job, maybe I should apply!)
So every month, if you give him a membership, he gets 12 bottles of hard to find hand crafted boutique beers from award winning breweries and a newsletter explaining what he's got and giving him all sorts of beer information. Shipping is free.
You can even add a special gift message to him from you.
There are options of different of lengths of time, so you can start him out with 3 months and see how it goes. I know there are some women who renew his subscription every year as his yearly birthday present because he loves it so much. So you've got your birthday present for him sorted out for a long time.
It's a great birthday gift of beer and to me is the best way to give him some great beer as a gift. It's way better than just going out and buying some.
I've talked about gift of the month clubs before, in relation to birthday gifts. I think a good gift of the month club is one of the best gifts for a man who is interested in beer, wine, coffee, chocolate, cookies or any one of dozens of consumables. There are lots of gift of the month clubs to choose from so you can find one for just about any man.
How about a lobster gift of the month club! See what I mean?
So check out Amazing Clubs, they have some great clubs for some great birthday gift ideas for him.
Could You Do With Some Romance In A Box?
Romance starts at home. At least it can, there's no need to go to all sorts of exotic places to get romantic. You can be romantic anywhere you want to be with a good romantic gift idea. Because romance is in the head, not the location.
And of course you can be romantic anywhere, with a great romantic gift.
I have come across a lovely romantic gift that you can give him right in the comfort of your own home. Or anywhere else if the urge takes you.
It's called Romance in a box from Romantic Room Designs. It is in effect a romantic gift basket for a man or a woman, and I love it.
The intention is to provide him, or you, with all you need to transform your, or his, bedroom into a romantic boudouir.
The photo I've included gives you an idea what you can do with your, or his, bedroom. It includes everything you need to totally transform his bedroom, or any other room you want. 200 silk rose petals. Six, frosted white heart shaped votive candles. Red Heart confetti to sprinkle around the base of the candles or on top of the bed and a "Do Not Disturb" sign to hang on the door.
Now I'm not suggesting you give him a romantic gift box at all. That would be uninteresting. What I'm suggesting is that you buy the gift basket, get it delivered so he doesn't know
