When Christmas comes it can be a little difficult to find hot gift ideas for men. Men are extremely difficult to buy for at the best of times.

If you're really stuck here's one idea that will work for almost all men. Homemade candy. If you're a little handy in the kitchen homemade candy is extremely easy to make, with some exceptions, and it makes a great gift idea for a man for Christmas or any other gift time.

If you make some great food for him, like candy, you've put some of yourself into the gift. You've taken the time and made the effort to put some love into your gift. It's so easy to just head down to the candy store and buy some candy, but homemade candy is so much better. It's made purely for him, from you.

And just about everyone loves candy, me included. I love to eat candy and I love to make candy. Well I love to cook generally.

Homemade candy, or any other homemade yummy, is a great way to put a bit of yourself into his Christmas gift. So make him some great candy this year.

If you're stuck for a recipe here's a good website about homemade candy recipes , but there's plenty more. Try and start with a simple recipe and work up to the harder stuff once you've tried a few. Stay away from recipes that require you to simmer water with sugar to a certain temperature, that takes time to master. Start simple and give him some great homemade candy for Christmas.

Men Going Away Need Hot Holiday Gifts

Need a few great ideas for Holiday Gifts? There's a pretty good chance you do, Christmas is coming and so many people go away for a holiday at Christmas. So if you're looking for some great Christmas gift ideas for hima and he's travelling soon then holiday gifts make a good Christmas gift.

Or maybe he's just the type who travels a lot with work. A good holiday gift for him still makes a fine Christmas gift.

Christmas is coming and you're all out of ideas for a great Christmas gift for him. He's your favorite man and you've just GOT to find him a hot Christmas gift.

It's not easy is it, coming up with good Christmas gift ideas every year? Or birthday gifts, or any other gifts. It's not easy indeed.

But it's not impossible at all. You just need to put in a little extra effort from normal, and you've got it nailed. It does take some more effort than you might be used to.

But what exactly do you do to come up with cool Christmas gift ideas? Where do you direct the effort?

Here's 3 tips for finding great Christmas gift ideas for men. Put them to work and you'll be surprised at how well they work, and you'll be coming up with all sorts of great ideas for his presents, Christmas or otherwise.

1. Start early.

It sounds obvious doesn't it, but almost everyone starts their gifts search too late. That doesn't mean that you need to be out there buying a Christmas gift for him in June, although there's nothing wrongwith that, it's the way to get some great bargains buying out of season.

No I mean start looking for ideas early. To me the best time to start looking for good Christmas gift ideas is Christmas day. Look for good ideas for next Christmas.

Listen to him when he opens his gifts and watches others open theirs. What turns him on, either about his gifts or those received by others? You can tell if you listen and watch his body language. File it away under "christmas gift ideas for him" or better still write it down.

2. Listen to him.

Through the year, listen to what he says with a "gifts" viewpoint. What does he like, what does't he. If he's in a store what catches his eye, what does he immediately go and look at?

What turns him on?

Listen to him and watch, and you'll slowly find out more and more about what turns him on, and there are your gift ideas.

3. Look for gift ideas that he would never buy for himself.

If there's something that you've identified that turns him on find something that he'd love but he'd NEVER BUY FOR HIMSELF.

A great gift is one that he'd love to have but wouldn't buy. Perhaps it's a bit of an extravagance that he wouldn't take. Perhaps it's something he'd consider a bit superfluous. Perhaps it's something he'd look at a lot but not quite get around to as there is always something more important.

Charity gift giving is nothing new, it's been around for years. Several times my family has bought Christmas presents of geese or chickens or cows for poor families in Africa over the last couple of years.

But just because charity gift giving isn't new doesn't mean it isn't a great idea. It is.

We are some of the luckiest people on the planet. We have a lifestyle that is the envy of almost everyone else. Even those of us that aren't quite as affluent as the rest are far better off than almost everyone else who lives on this earth. We are comfortable and life is easy compared to some, and sometimes we forget this.

So gift giving that helps the less fortunate amongst us is a wonderful idea.

Oxfam has just released it's new "Oxfam Unwrapped" program. It's designed for people like us to help those that aren't as fortunate. We purchase gifts that benefit the poorer people of the world. We then give that "gift" to someone we love.

So for example I could buy a buffalo for a poor family in Africa, or a donkey. And then give a certificate or document reflecting that to someone I love, so they also are a part of that gift.

Take a gift of a donkey for just over $100. Here's what Oxfam says about it.

"Oxfam is helping to distribute donkeys to those affected by the conflict in Sudan. Abdell Rasol Ibrahim says of his donkey Mashi (which means ‘Goes Fast’): “She makes a big difference to my life. I’m a single parent, and I have five children to look after. I was very happy when I received the donkey, because I can go and collect enough firewood and grass to sell in the market. She’s a very good donkey. I’m very proud to have her.”

To give a gift like that is to really make a difference in someone's life. It may be one of the most important gifts you ever make.

So I urge you to seriously consider the Oxfam Unwrapped gifts for your man this Christmas. It may mean an awful lot more than you realise to someone else on this planet. It's a wonderful charity gift.

If He Loves Art Give Him Some Beautiful...

I love all things Chinese. That's probably because I spent 3 months last year living in China with my family. My wife is a teacher and we did a stint living in a Chinese school teaching English. I'm not a teacher but I taught too. It was a wonderful time doing something completely different.

It was great. Our kids loved it as well.

Now we have a house full of Chinese arts and crafts.

A lot of the stuff in our local stores is made in China, and a lot of it is poor quality. But Chinese arts and crafts are wonderful, and good quality.

In particular I love Chinese calligraphy. We have 2 wonderful wall hangings of Chinese calligraphy hanging at the top of our stairs, and they have been much remarked on by visitors.

Chinese arts and crafts make wonderful and unique gift ideas for a mans gift.

Particularly for a man who has an arty house or apartment, Chinese art makes a wonderful decoration. Just ask anyone who visits out house.

Chinese art is a perfect gift for so many occasions, just because it is so unusual. Whether it's a birthday gift for him, a Christmas gift, or even a unique thank you gift idea, there are so many occasions where you could consider Chinese art.

Suffice to say, if you're looking to find unique gifts online for a man who loves his art, Chinese arts and crafts certainly fit the bill. They are certainly unique, and quite beautiful.

And one of the beauties of Chinese art is that it is extremely inexpensive. The wall hangings we have were around $10 each and are hand made and stunning. You wouldn't even buy a reproduction of any good western artwork for $10, or anywhere near it.

Now of course we bought ours right there in China. Isn't it a whole lot more expensive if you're at home and want to buy Chinese art?

No, you'd be surprised. There are websites where you can buy extremely attractive Chinese arts and crafts for under $20. That's cheap for a unique and high quality mens gift.

And there are also some beautiful cards there as well. Traditional Chinese birthday cards are stunning, and at $10 - $15 for a pack they are again extremely good value.

Or a traditional Chinese invitation card for, say, wedding invitations? There are so many different occasions where a Chinese themed gift would make a wonderful and quite unique gift for him.

A little while ago I wrote an article about lingerie for women as a sexy gift for a man.

In that I said that a very effective and sexy gift for a man is a gift of lingerie.

(And I also said, for those of you who haven't had the chance to read it, that I didn't mean that he wore the lingerie, but the woman who bought it for him wore it for him. Just wanted to clear that up.

I also wrote another article about plus size lingerie as a sexy gift for a man after I received an email from a reader who asked what I thought about lingerie as a womans gift to a man where the woman who was going to wear the lingerie for him was a larger woman.

And in that article I suggested a fine plus size lingerie store called Hips and Curves, probably the best plus size lingerie store on the net.

Well the whole point of this article is pretty simple really. It's just to let you know that Hips and Curves are having a summer clearance and are selling out their summer stock at 30% - 80% off.

Does your man love beer? Just about every man does, including me. And there are some very good beers around.

I have a brewery near me. It is one of those small boutique breweries that brews small quantities of high quality beers. The types that win awards, they've won quite a few. It was my brothers birthday a while ago and I bought him a beer gift box from them, with a selection of their products for him to try. He loved it.

There are some lovely birthday beer gift baskets and boxes around and I love them, it's a really nice way to give him a birthday gift. You can get even get chocolate and beer gift baskets, and that sounds like something I'd love.

If you want to give a beer love a beer gift for his birthday I don't think it's enough to just buy him a bottle or 3 of his regular beer and give that to your man for his birthday, you've got to do better than that if you want to give him a beer gift that's really special. Like the beer gift box I bought.

But I've now found an even better way to do it.

A beer of the month club.

You see to me a gift of beer is an opportunity for you to offer him a birthday gift that gives him something that's not easy to get. A real beer experience. An opportunity to try some beers that he would never ever get to try otherwise. That's a birthday gift with a difference.

There are all sorts of small boutique breweries all over the country that brew wonderful beers, just like the one near me. And you'd probably never find them yourself or if you did it isn't easy to buy their products unless you live near one like I do.

Romance starts at home. At least it can, there's no need to go to all sorts of exotic places to get romantic. You can be romantic anywhere you want to be with a good romantic gift idea. Because romance is in the head, not the location.

And of course you can be romantic anywhere, with a great romantic gift.

I have come across a lovely romantic gift that you can give him right in the comfort of your own home. Or anywhere else if the urge takes you.

Your anniversary is coming up. You need to find an anniversary gift for him. Maybe it's a wedding anniversary, or the anniversary of the first day you met, or the anniversary of any day that's important to you. An anniversary is just the celebration of a day in your life together that meant something extra special to you both.

Of course a wedding is the most common anniversary, and there is a formal and traditional list for selecting wedding anniversary gifts, with traditional and modern gift themes.

For example the traditional first wedding anniversary gift theme is paper, the modern theme is clock.

I think mens jewelry, particularly a great looking and modern themed mens anniversary ring makes a great gift for him on your wedding anniversary. There are some stunning rings around for men, both for weddings and anniversaries. An anniversary ring is a great idea and is now quite a cool gift.

Of course you can't give him a ring every year. He can't wear them all. However if he doesn't have a ring now then why not consider an anniversary ring for your first wedding anniversary gift for him?

If you haven't looked at mens jewelry and in particular mens wedding and anniversary rings then you need to. They are so much better than they were a few years ago. There are now some fantastic online stores that specialize in mens jewelry, one of my favorites specializes not just in mens jewelry but in mens Titanium jewelry only. Just Metal, a sensational store and one of the best.

Titanium is a stunning metal for jewelry. It's modern, it's good looking and it's masculine. I love it, both the look and the feel. The ring above is a black titanium ring with a tension set diamond.

Now of course not all men love wearing jewelry. I personally don't wear any, except for a wedding band. But I love wearing that. So you may need to establish first how your man feels about wearing an anniversary ring. But if he likes the idea I wouldn't hesitate to seriously consider a ring as a great anniversary gift. Either for your first anniversary or your fiftieth, it doesn't matter.

And personally I'd consider getting his anniversary ring engraved with a special anniversary message. It can't be long, but can be special.
